Antbase.org has posted a guide to Neotropical ants on their website. It includes keys and descriptions to all the subfamilies and genera. Unfortunately, it is only available in Spanish. I have found, though, that Spanish keys are often easy to decipher for English speakers since so many taxonomic characteristics are very similar in both languages (mandíbulas triangulares = triangular mandibles, acidoporo circular = circular acidopore, etc.). The main document can be found here and the keys can be found here.In which I will be keeping track (for my own benefit) of my daily progress in the identification of the ant fauna of Tiputini Biodiversity Station in Ecuador, the analysis of that data, and the pursuit of my PhD. And (for the benefit of everyone else) I hope to provide helpful information on ants, taxonomy, database management, identification, and other assorted endeavors. Cheers
